SMART 2004 uses advanced SQL technology. The system has five integrated modules that can manage all administrative and accounting operations, and generate all the reports related to these activities.
The Childcare module, a specialized customer accounts section, helps manage attendance by children, billing, and processing of subsidies. It also contains all information on the children and their parents. The module includes all functions necessary to efficiently manage the following:
- Lists of parents, children, groups and persons to contact in case of emergency;
- Detailed medical records and reminders;
- City subsidies allocated to each child;
- Statements of accounts and post-dated cheques;
- Production of year-end receipts;
- Retroactive changes in subsidy rates;
- Production of monthly reports for the city, and calculation of all advances and payments received;
- Waiting lists.
The Accounting module processes day-to-day operations as professionally as it handles periodical operations. The list of accounts can be customized, and it allows accounting by project and by location. Thanks to its data-drilling function, the user can view data in as much detail as necessary simply by double-clicking. The module can perform cash basis accounting and end-of-period closing operations:
- Cash disbursements;
- Accounts payable;
- Petty cash;
- Automatic calculation of taxes;
- Deposits and bank reconciliation;
- General Journal and General Ledger;
- Trial balance;
- Statement of results and balance sheet.
The Payroll module helps you process payroll quickly and efficiently. It manages all data relating to employees and work hours, calculates payroll and processes the payments. It offers all of the advantages and functions necessary to save substantial amounts of time and money. Some of the tasks it can perform are:
- Calculation and payment of payroll by employee category and by location;
- Calculation of social and taxable benefits;
- Deduction of union dues;
- Calculation of CSPAAT contributions and vacations to pay;
- Calculation and payment of government remittances;
- Production of employment records;
- Printing of year-end income tax statements;
- Medical records of employees.
The E-Transfer module makes electronic fund transfers easy, and can deposit pay cheques directly into employees’ bank accounts; it can also withdraw pre-authorized childcare fee payments from the accounts of parents. The module conforms to the requirements of the Canadian Payments Association (CPA).
The Multi-Location module helps distribute revenues and expenses among multiple locations. It can produce consolidated reports, for all locations, or separate reports for each location.
