Québec, July 4, 2006 – Fortsum Business Solutions Inc. (Fortsum Business Solutions) (TSX Venture Exchange: FRT) announces today the signature of a contract with the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune du Québec (MRNF) for the technical support of the Acte en Ligne software program for a period of twelve months, beginning on July 1, 2006 and ending on June 30, 2007. At the same time, the Corporation also renews its marketing agreement for this software for an additional 19 months to end on January 31, 2008.
Designed for the benefit of MRNF by Informatique pour professionnels, subsequently acquired by Fortsum Business Solutions, Acte en Ligne was specifically developed to allow notaries public within Québec to electronically transfer of their acts to the Registre foncier du Québec.
In October 2001, Acte en Ligne became the first software program to produce and transmit acts electronically with the same legal status as the traditional paper format. To date some 160,000 acts have been registered using this technology, which is used by 220 notaries public throughout Québec.
“Upon acquiring Informatique pour professionnels in July 2005, one of Fortsum Business Solutions’ strategies was to further develop the association initially established with the MRNF. We are also pleased to offer the MRNF the Corporation’s expertise in technical support and we hope to continue to strengthen our association with the Ministry over the coming years,” commented Fortsum Business Solutions’ Chief Executive Officer François Taschereau. “With the signature of this contract, Fortsum solidifies its leadership position in the area of software and services for notaries public and we hope to pursue business development in the legal field,” concluded Taschereau.
